Speakers

Speakers for the 5 sessions held through the day include:

• Penny Ur

  Penny Ur has thirty years' experience as an English teacher in elementary, middle and high schools in Israel. Now retired, she has taught M.A. courses at Oranim Academic College of Education and Haifa University. She has presented papers at TESOL, IATEFL and various other English teachers' conferences worldwide. 

• Marie Delaney

  Marie Delaney is an Educational Consultant and Educational Psychotherapist, MFL / EFL Teacher, Teacher Trainer, NLP Master Practitioner and author. She is now based in Cork and works internationally, offering training, consultancy and individual consultations. She has worked in alternative education centres for students excluded from mainstream in Ireland. In ELT she has been Director of Studies for International House in Poland and Course Director for Teacher Training at Pilgrims, Canterbury, UK. Her main interests are introducing therapeutic approaches into mainstream schools to develop realistic strategies for challenging behaviour.

• Lindsay Warwick
  

  Lindsay Warwick is a teacher, trainer and materials writer. She has been teaching general English and exam preparation courses for over twenty years. She is a CELTA trainer and has delivered teacher development courses in the UK and abroad on topics such as train the trainer, using technology in the classroom and helping learners to prepare for exams. She is co-author of Gold Preliminary B1, Gold Experience B1 and B2+, Expert IELTS 6 and Pearson's new general English series Roadmap (A2 and A2+).

• John Hughes

  John Hughes is an award-winning ELT author and teacher trainer. With over 40 book titles, his best-known course series is National Geographic Learning’s Life and he is also a co-author on the new third edition of World English.  As a teacher trainer, he has run courses, workshops and given conference presentations in over 40 countries. His main specialism is materials development and bridging the gap between theory and practice. He still teaches and pilots his own materials with students in Oxford. 

• Mark Hancock
  
  Marck Hancock wrote his first book, Pronunciation Games (CUP) in the early nineties. Since then, he has been teaching in Europe and writing materials including English Pronunciation in Use Intermediate (CUP) and various coursebooks. His latest books, PronPack 1-4 (Hancock McDonald ELT) received the 2017 ELTons Award for innovation in teacher resources. Mark also uploads free articles and materials on pronpack.com and hancockmcdonald.com.

Sessions

Each speaker session will take 45 minutes. In the 15-minute breaks between each session, you’ll have the option either to stretch your legs and grab some refreshments, or to stick around for a partner video on the latest features and products our partners are providing the education world.

You’ll also be able to ask speakers follow-up questions during the lunch break or the after-party

After-party

During the after-party, we’ll be running a raffle with some fabulous prizes (as always) and you’ll get the chance to network with our partners, speakers and colleagues as you move between  specific break-out rooms. Choose with whom you’d like to speak, join their breakout room, chat together for as long or as short a time as you’d like (you’ll need to turn on your microphone for this part) and then move to another room to meet more people.

The conference will take place on the Zoom Webinars platform using the latest Zoom features and presentation skills for a P.A.R.K. conference experience in the comfort of your own home.
